CAMBRIDGE SUMMER  MUSIC was founded in 1979. It exists to promote live classical music of the highest calibre in Cambridge and the surrounding villages.

It presents outstanding soloists, chamber ensembles and orchestras as well as supporting talented young artists at the beginning of their careers. It provides a platform for the works of living composers as well as more familiar repertoire, all performed in beautiful historic settings in and around our great city.

Cambridge Summer Music is delighted to announce the appointment of Ian Maclay, former Managing Director of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, as Festival Director for the 2018 Festival. Interview with Ian Maclay
