This recital features some of the most beautiful and best-loved pieces of the soprano repertoire, charting a woman’s life, loves and dreams. The centrepiece is Richard Strauss’ iconic Four Last Songs, followed by other popular pieces including Dvorak’s famous Songs my mother taught me which gives the recital its title.
Laura Pooley is a Cambridge-based soprano who has performed many major roles in the UK and Europe, including for Welsh National Opera.
Brian Stanborough is an international pianist and conductor who has worked with some of the most famous names in opera including Monserrat Caballé and Leontyne Price.
