Sounds Green: Afrosamba

Afrosamba is a Brazilian four-piece encompassing styles such as Afro Brazilian Jazz, Samba and Bossa Nova. Based in the UK, the group is fronted by Brazilian born Pilo Adami with seasoned musicians from Mozambique, Brazil and the UK. Influences are drawn from João Gilberto’s harmonic complexities, Airto Moreira’s experimental rhythms and Jorge Ben Jor’s laid back approach.

The Sounds Green series of concerts take place on Wednesday evenings in July in the beautiful setting of Cambridge University Botanic Garden   the best in open-air music. Bring a rug and a picnic – open to all ages. Food, ice creams and drinks on sale. Music from 6.15-7.00pm; garden closes at 8.00pm.

Retiring collection towards the cost of concerts  – please look out for stewards bearing buckets as you leave!
