She’Koyokh

On Wednesday evenings in July Cambridge Summer Music presents Sounds Green at Cambridge University Botanic Garden – a unique chance to hear live music in one of the City’s most beautiful spaces. For our first Sounds Green of 2016 we welcome world music stalwarts She’Koyokh.

Hailed as “one of London’s musical treasures, playing the best Balkan and klezmer music in Britain” (The Evening Standard), She’Koyokh’s members hail from the UK, USA, Serbia, Sweden and Turkey, forging a unique sound that is traditional yet original. Their live shows are an expertly crafted, multi-lingual exploration from the Baltic to the Black Sea with songs in Yiddish, Russian, Greek, Ladino, Romany, Turkish and Kurdish alongside klezmer instrumentals and folk tunes from Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia.

Come along and find out “how utterly wonderful it is to hear a genuine melting pot of beautiful, pan-European music, skilfully and lovingly crafted by a troupe of fabulous musicians.” (Isle of Man Today).

“Among the finest klezmer ensembles on the planet.” (The Australian)
