The University Choir Lille MUKO

Sunday 14 July 2019, 7.30pm
Trinity College Chapel

(by kind permission of the Master and Fellows of Trinity College)

Copenhagen-based Lille Muko is one of Denmark’s foremost classical choirs. Affiliated to the University of Copenhagen it combines the voices of talented students with more experienced professional singers. Tonight’s programme reflects their trademark association with Danish and Scandinavian choral music – but, in keeping with the Festival theme, the focus will be on works inspired by the traditions of Bach. Founded in 1967, the choir has enjoyed remarkable continuity, with only four conductors since its inception.

This concert will be a particularly special occasion as it is their last performance with conductor Jesper Grove Jørgensen, who has been with them for 32 years.

‘ … exquisitely performed. The Lille MUKO Choir delivers the choral cycle … with skill and finesse.’ Guy Rikards, Gramophone
