Felicity Lott: One More Kiss

Friday 26 July 2019, 7.30pm
Peter Hall Performing Arts Centre, Perse School

Felicity Lott soprano
Jason Carr piano/composer

Dame Felicity Lott is a name that needs no introduction. She is one of Britain’s best-loved sopranos whose operatic portrayals – particularly of Strauss and Mozart roles – have attracted acclaim worldwide from audiences and critics alike. She has also made something of a speciality of operetta, starring as Offenbach’s Belle Hélène and Grande-Duchesse, as well as Lehar’s Merry Widow. Fresh from her appearance as Oscar Straus’s muse Heidi Schiller in the National Theatre’s hit production of Stephen Sondheim’s Follies, she is joined tonight by pianist and theatre composer Jason Carr for a sparkling exploration of the legacy of French and German operetta, and its development in the English-speaking theatre from Offenbach and Coward to Sondheim.
