03 Apr Sounds Green: Dodo Street Band
Wednesday 12 July 2017, 6.15pm
Cambridge University Botanic Garden
Described as ‘the last word in Celtic Gypsy Klezmer’, Dodo Street Band combine diabolical fiddle virtuosity from international star Adam Summerhayes, outrageous brilliance from world number one recorder genius Piers Adams (many will have heard the electrifying playing of Adam and Piers when they appeared as part of Red Priest for CSM at Christmas), insane talent from accordion master Murray Grainger, positively evil power from bass legend Malcolm Creese and dazzling bodhran playing from multi-award-winning king of folk percussion, Cormac Byrne. We defy you to resist the urge to get up and dance! Bring your children to hear the Dodo Street Band again, at 11am on Sunday 16 July, when they will be giving a Music for Kids concert.
The Sounds Green series of concerts take place on Wednesday evenings in July in the beautiful setting of Cambridge University Botanic Garden – the best in open-air music. Bring a rug and a picnic – open to all ages. Food, ice creams and drinks on sale. Music from 6.15-7.00pm; garden closes at 8.00pm.
Retiring collection towards the cost of concerts – please look out for stewards bearing buckets as you leave!
